We are looking for the ultimate Holstein Friesian herd scene photograph to print onto the windows of the HFNZ Office in Hamilton as the finishing touch to the recent renovations. The winning photographer will also receive one year's free HFNZ membership! See below for terms, conditions and specifications.

Finishing Touch Photo Competition Terms and Conditions

  1. Entries open on Thursday 1 November 2018 and close Friday 30 November 2018.
  2. All entries received must meet the photo specifications as outlined below.
  3. The winning photo will be printed onto the HFNZ Office windows in Hamilton, and the winning photographer will also win a year’s free membership (Junior, Associate or Senior) for the 2019/20 year (1 April 2019-31 March 2020).
  4. Entries are open to HFNZ members only. If you are not currently a member, you will need to apply for membership and pay the 2018/19 subscription fee before entering the competition.
  5. All entries will remain property of Holstein Friesian NZ and may be used for promotional purposes.
  6. There is no limit to the number of entries per person. Applicants will be sent email confirmation once entries are received. If the entrant doesn’t receive a confirmation email that their entry(ies) have been received by the Office, it is their responsibility to follow up with the Office and check that their entry(ies) have been received. HFNZ takes no responsibility for entries not received.
  7. The winner will be decided by the Board and notified via email, then be announced via Facebook on Monday 17 December 2018.

Photo Specifications

  1. The winning photo will be blown up to approximately 4m x 2.6m, and therefore it will need to be taken in high resolution on the highest mega pixel setting for the camera. Any file smaller than 4MB will not be accepted for the competition.
  2. All cows in the photo should be Holstein Friesian. Any photo that includes other breeds of cows or cross bred cows will not be eligible for the competition.
  3. The photo should be a wide, landscape shot, not a portrait shot- see example mock up below…
