Holstein Friesian New Zealand trains and certifies judges for Club, Branch and A & P shows.

Any person who wishes to become an official Holstein Friesian New Zealand judge must attend a judging school and put in an official result card. They must meet a minimum pass rate and be approved by Board to be made an Associate Judge.

To become a Senior Judge, an Associate Judge must attain an 80% pass rate in each section of the examination for three consecutive attendances in five years or over 85% for two consecutive attendances within three years.

Senior Judges must attend regular Judging Schools to retain their certificate.
